Worldwide customers for Puccini Bomboni

AMSTERDAM - Puccini Bomboni is a globally known company based in Amsterdam. Two years ago, chocolatier Sabine van Weldam took the company over from her mother. Puccini Bomboni is positioned in the premium segment and has two beautiful chocolate stores in the heart of Amsterdam.
‘We are quite a weird company’ Van Weldam explains. ‘We just got started ourselves by experimenting with ingredients for our chocolates. The consumers liked the flavours we developed, and that’s how we grew bit by bit, from 6 types of bonbons towards the 40 bonbon types in our current assortment.’
Puccini Bomboni is a good example of a local Amsterdam company that is broadening her horizon and, in the meantime, has built an international network of accounts. On the one hand because people have a stopover at Schiphol Airport and hurry to order some Puccini bonbons, on the other because questions arise how to become distributor in a certain market or to open a Puccini store somewhere. ‘That’s the reason why we are looking how to manage this internationalization process, both in a commercial way but also in terms of product technology. The latter aspect is also very important, because you have just one chance to do it right.’ Do you want to know more about Van Weldam’s vision on international entrepreneurship?
